Special Promise from the Blessed Mother

The First Saturday Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Promise.

On July 13, 1917, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three children, Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia near Fatima, Portugal. On that day after revealing a vision of hell to the children, Our Lady said with sadness and tenderness, “You saw Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. In order to save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I ask, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.

On December 10, 1925 Our Lady with the Christ Child appeared to Lucia, who was now a nun, in her convent at Pontevedra, Spain. The Christ Child spoke first,“Have compassion on the heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.”

Our Lady then said, “Look, my daughter, at my Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me and announce for me that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.”

On May 29 and 30, 1933, Our Lord explained to Lucia the reason why He requested five First Saturdays instead of nine as with novenas or seven in honor of the Sorrows of Our Lady. Our Lord said, “My daughter, the motive is simple. There are five ways in which people offend and blaspheme against the Immaculate Heart of Mary: the blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception; against her virginity; against the Divine Maternity, refusing at the same time to accept her as the Mother of all Mankind; those who try publicly to implant in the children’s hearts indifference, contempt and even hatred against the Immaculate Heart; those who insult her directly in her sacred images.

“Here, my daughter, is the reason why the Immaculate Heart of Mary, My Mother, causes Me to ask for this little act of reparation and, due to it, more of My mercy to forgive those souls who had the misfortune of offending her.”

Our Lady said, “I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall:

The Conditions Required

• Attend Confession
• Receive Holy Communion
• Recite five decades of the Rosary
• And keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.”
