During the last week of January 1996,  Dr. Castañón received a call saying that the proof he was looking for concerning Katya Rivas may have arrived.  Dr. Castañón visited Katya in the hospital and in the video he described what he saw, the wounds of the stigmata, wounds that inexplicably healed by the next day.  He also described how he witnessed the complete process in July 1996.

Dr. Castañón observed the first signs of the manifestation of Katya's stigmata: "I saw some points on her forehead with a little bit of blood". 

Dr. Castañón observed the wounds on Katya's hands as well as similar wounds on her feet, the bleeding from the wounds and how she began to suffer a lot.
